April Scrapbooking Challenges Case Files – First Reveal | Deadline: May 4, 2026

Happy April, Investigators!

We’re back with a brand new set of Case Files to spark your creativity and get those stories documented. This month’s challenges are full of fresh inspiration, and we can’t wait to see how you interpret the clues!

For today’s reveal, we’re shining the spotlight on Case File No. 474. Be sure to check back on the 15th when we reveal inspiration for our second Case File.

GUEST DETECTIVE SPOTS

Our Detective Squad is always hot on the trail of standout scrappers! If your layout leaves us awestruck, you just might get deputized as a Guest Detective. We’ll be combing through the case files on the 4th of each month, so make sure your evidence—er, layout—is filed in the album by then. And don’t worry—our cold cases are always open, so feel free to revisit old clues whenever inspiration strikes. Crack enough crafty cases and leave a trail of wow-worthy work… and you could find yourself recruited to our elite Design Team Task Force!

CASE FILES

At CSI, we love giving our Case Files a playful twist, and this month’s investigations are brimming with fresh, seasonal inspiration—perfect for capturing both the beauty of everyday moments and the energy of springtime creativity.

Case File No. 474 – There’s something undeniably comforting about a thoughtfully styled space—layers of meaningful objects, a mix of textures, and little details that tell a story without saying a word.

This Scene invites you into a cozy, curated world filled with warm neutrals, soft greens, and gentle pops of orange. Think homey, inviting, and full of charm—like a snapshot of everyday life, lovingly arranged. Whether you’re inspired by the layered design, the natural elements, or the sense of comfort, this Case File is all about storytelling through details.

Case File No. 475 – If Case File 474 is about quiet charm, Case File 475 bursts onto the scene with bold color and playful contrast.

Bright pinks, teals, leafy greens, and pops of coral come together in a vibrant, eye-catching palette. The mix of florals, patterns, and graphic elements creates a lively, almost collage-like feel—perfect for telling stories full of joy, energy, and personality. It’s a celebration of color, creativity, and seeing beauty in unexpected combinations.

And remember—you’re never limited to the theme itself. Let the Scenes spark your imagination, or follow the traditional clues at the bottom of this post to guide your investigation. However you interpret the evidence, we can’t wait to see how you solve the Case!

INSPIRATION

Investigators, are you ready to crack the case? Let’s revisit the first Case File on our investigation board...

CSI  DETECTIVES

Our talented team has been hard at work investigating this Case File, and wow… they absolutely cracked it!

From soft, layered compositions to bold and playful interpretations, each layout brings a unique perspective to the Scene. You’ll notice how different designers focused on different elements—some leaned into the color palette, others into the textures and embellishments, and some were inspired by the overall theme and storytelling possibilities.

Take your time exploring each layout—you might spot clever details, creative techniques, and inspiring ideas to try on your own page!

💡 NEED HELP GETTING STARTED?

If you’re not sure where to begin, here are a few ideas to get you going:

  • Pull out greens, oranges, and neutrals from your stash
  • Create a layered vignette like the tiered tray
  • Use home-themed elements or cozy embellishments
  • Add dimension with clusters and stacked elements
  • Let the Scene inspire a story about home, everyday moments, or seasonal memories

Or… just go with your gut and see where the inspiration takes you!

CASE FILE CLUES

Investigators, the clues are waiting to be uncovered — nestled among layered trays, tucked between petals and patterns, hidden in textures, colors, and carefully arranged details — just waiting for you to gather them up.

You might find yourself drawn to the warm, cozy charm of a thoughtfully curated space… pulling inspiration from soft neutrals, natural elements, and comforting, everyday details. Or perhaps you’ll follow the vibrant pull of bold color and playful energy — where florals bloom bright, patterns collide, and creativity takes center stage.

One path or both — the choice is yours.

Let the scene be your story. Let the details guide your design. Gather your supplies, layer your elements, and see which clues speak loudest to you.

Will you document the beauty of everyday moments at home?
Will you capture joy through color, texture, and playful composition?
Or will you blend both worlds into a story uniquely your own?

Use what sparks your imagination and challenge yourself to collect as many clues as you can carry.

Your mission: investigate the scene, assemble the evidence, craft your layout, and tell the story only you can tell.

The case is open. The inspiration is waiting.
Are you ready to solve it?
