April Case Files {Mid-month Reveal} - Deadline: April 30, 2019

We're excited to bring you our April mid-month reveal, where we'll share inspiration for our second April Case File. You can check out our first reveal here, and don't forget to try our stash-busting challenge, aka Cold Case File--we're sharing inspiration for our Cold Case in this post too. All three of our challenges stay open the entire month.
SPONSORS

This month, we have nine generous sponsors. Click here to read more about our sponsors and the prizes they are donating. Winners will be selected randomly from all of our players, with a few exceptions where sponsors have asked us to choose from certain geographic regions.

CASE FILES

We present our April Case Files. Traditional clues can be found at the bottom of this blog post.

Case File No. 278 celebrates National Robotics Week with this intriguing scene we found when we typed in robotics in pinterest. You must check out the amazing moving image Eduardo Fuentes created.

The sweet, lovely Scene from Case File No. 279 was chosen for our mid-month Case File because April 14 is Keep a Poem in Your Pocket Day, and, well, a good poem is like sunshine to the soul. Marnie Maurri is the artist of this adorable illustration.

The Scene from our whimsical April Cold Case is by Marie Desbons.

The traditional CSI clues can be found on our Facebook page in the first entry under the album. Just click on the Case File images above. They are also posted at the bottom of this reveal.

To submit your layouts, click on the Case Files above, which will bring you to the individual albums in our Facebook group.

GUEST DESIGNERS

We are so honored to have the Cocoa Vanilla, The Midnight Kraft Desk, and Scrapmatts design teams serving as Guest Detectives this month (you can see Scrapmatts design team member Tania Ridgwell's layout in our April 1 reveal). You are sure to be inspired by their work!

INSPIRATION

And now, are you ready for some serious inspiration? Here's what our design team and guest designers created with Case File No. 279.

The talented Sue Plumb from the Cocoa Vanilla design team expertly solved the Case File:

How Sue solved the Case: I loved the colour scheme and thought it would be match perfectly with the Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'More Than Words' collection. I included dots; black and white print; hearts; (flair) button; string (on my tag); lots of white space; cursive fonts; and things that look hand-drawn (the sketch style butterflies and flowers). For my journalling, I created a pocket behind the photo to tuck my journal tag into, and also used the word "precious" as my page title.

Kay Fatula, owner of The Midnight Kraft Desk rocked the Case File:

How Kay solved the Case: I've used the following evidence: dots, black & white prints, hearts, sun, buttons, pocket, string, lots of white space. For the testimony I've put my journaling in a pocket. Title of layout is 'You Are My Sunshine' which is printed on the butterfly wings. Butterfly is from my Etsy shop.

And the CSI design team masterfully cracked the Case. We'll share how they solved the Case on Facebook.

Here's how the talented Cocoa Vanilla cracked our Cold Case:

How Gwen solved the Cold Case: I was immediately inspired by the floral filled background which reminded me of a piece of Vellum I had in my stash from the Cocoa Vanilla Studios “Wild at Heart” collection which I have been meaning to use up. I teamed it with a fresh new cut file, using it to back the floral leaves as well as adding it to my photo mat. The background of the case image also inspired me to use a cut file that made a statement and filled up the background of my page. I’ve also pulled the blue and mint from the image. I didn’t have any bicycles that suited, so used circle elements to represent that and love how they work with the soft lines of the floral die cuts.

How Nikki solved the Cold Case: I was mostly inspired by the flowers and bicycle theme. In my layout I also integrated things which are upside down. The flower wreath simultaneously assumes the task of a frame. Butterflies are also to be found, since they always make a great combination with flowers.
