March Case Files - First Reveal | Deadline: April 4, 2022

Happy March! We're very excited to be teaming up with Scrap the Boys for our first Case File this month. We encourage you to play along by using our Case File to scrap a layout featuring the boys and men in your life, and share your layouts in both challenges' Facebook groups--CSI and Scrap the Boys.

We're also thrilled to be bringing back Guest Designers from our players whose work caught our eye. We've got three this month!

For this first reveal, we'll be sharing inspiration from the design team and guest designers for our first Case File. On the 15th, we'll be sharing inspiration for our second Case File.

We're pleased to welcome a new Detective to the CSI design team! Meet Sindi Jeffers.

I started scrapping almost twenty years ago when I was pregnant with my son. I love creating geometric-inspired layouts, hand stitching on paper, and creating bright, colorful pages. I’ve been on many teams through the years, and I’m excited to join the CSI team!

You can see more of Sindi's work on her Instagram.

This year, in addition to having sponsors donate prizes, CSI will be giving away a $20 (U.S. dollars) gift certificate to your favorite online craft store (must take Paypal) to one lucky player each month.

We'll also be inviting some players whose work catches our eye to serve as Guest Detectives.

We're excited to have CUT to YOU continue as a prime sponsor this year!

March is National Kite Month as well as DC Kids Super Hero Month, so we've got two fun Case Files featuring these commemorations. As always, you don't have to scrap these topics. Draw your own inspiration from The Scene on the Case File, or you can use the traditional clues, which can be found at the bottom of this blog post.

Debra Beer

My name is Debra Beer, I live in the Upper Hunter Valley of NSW, Australia.
I am mother to 2 beautiful daughters and 5 amazing grandchildren.
I have been scrapping for over 25 years, and love it, especially entering challenges.
My interests include scrapping, photography, travel and spending time with family.
I am thrilled to be Guest Designer for CSI Challenges.

I was inspired to used a solid colour background, lots of patterned paper pieces including spots and stripes, pinwheels, Enamel dots, diamond shape, shiny gold and wooden elements

Hi! I am Rona, grandma to three boys, mom of two girls and wife to the man of my dreams for 35 years! I have been scrapbooking for about 25 years and i never get tired of trying new things. I enjoy taking care of my grandsons when their moms are at work or play lol. I can also be found in the nursery at church every Sunday loving on babies so their parents can attend worship. I have had lots of "jobs" through the years but I have to say where I am right now is the happiest I have ever been!!

I was inspired by the colors in the inspiration photo, but added a touch of pink (which I rarely do with all grandsons but this was a mother's day photo shoot ). Also used the solid background, woodgrain pattern, stripes, dots, sun, diamond shapes, pinwheel, bows, string, wooden accents (i whitewashed mine with watered-down gesso), enamel dots, and a shiny brad in the center of my pinwheel. The facing page of this layout has a Mother's Day quote for the title so I didn't include a large title on this one.

My name is Ronda and I live in Northern Canada. I have been scrapbooking for almost 20 years and it is such a great craft because we have long cold winters, however I still find time to play with paper during summer too!

As soon as I saw the photo prompt I knew what photo I was scrapbooking! Embracing the yellow and white from the colour listing… the wood grain, used buttons as fasteners had enamel buttons and arrows, the stencil butter was shiny, used vegetable netting in lieu of fabric and I documented “friendship” they are buds forever and actually met in 1997 like the enamel button!

Hope you have fun solving this case! Thanks CSI for featuring my layout 🙏

.(Ronda is a Double Agent this month, as she's also part of our collaboration with Scrap the Boys.)

And now, are you ready for some serious inspiration? Here's what our design team and Guest Detectives created with this month's first Case File. We will share creations for our other Case File on the 15th of the month.

Our Guest Detectives from the Scrap the Boys creatively solved the Case. You'll notice that some of the Scrap the Boys designers are also CSI Detectives, so they are serving as Double Agents this month!

The CSI design team masterfully cracked the Case. We'll share how we solved the Case on Facebook and Instagram.

Choose as many or as few as you are inspired to use! You don't have to use all of the categories of clues. use what inspires you, or challenge yourself to use as many clues as you can. Or just use the image to inspire you as you wish!
