INSPIRATION

So...are you ready for some serious inspiration?

Here is how our talented 2Crafty Guest Detectives cracked the Case:

Di's blog

2Crafty products used on Di's layout:

Elena's blog

How Elena solved the Case: First of all, I was inspired by the color scheme. Used red, green and brown. Added Christmas elements: Santa, gifts, Christmas balls. Used pieces of paper with chalk lettering on the Board. The photo of the daughter in Santa's cap was decorated with a poinsettia flower.

Elisa's blog
How Elisa solved the Case: I drew inspiration from the challenge graphic and colour scheme for my layout, incorporating wood, circles, music, chalkboard and greenery as well as many Christmas elements like Baubles, poinsettias and presents. The challenge criteria was perfect for creating that special Christmas layout.

The 2Crafty Chipboard pieces used in my layout are as follows -
1. Circle Stack
2. Bauble Ornament Set
3. Christmas # Word Set 1
4. Present Set

Hetty's blog
How Hetty solved the Case: I tried to pick lots of elements from the evidence like Christmas elements in the form of chipboard of course. I also used the car cause it was so cute with the Christmas tree on top from 49 and Market as well as the plaid paper framing the photo. The circles are my 2Crafty chipboard baubles and I think the photo has got a real vintage feel to it. Of course it features the tree and poinsettia flowers as it wouldn’t be Christmas without them. From the testimony I added my 2Crafty chipboard title being the Christmas prompt and my photo is documenting Christmas Morning and the excitement of kids opening presents. I also wanted to add the word Merry as that is the feeling it portrays.

Lisa's blog
I have used the following 2Crafty Products to create this layout.
Fine Snowflakes
Mini Christmas Baubles
Xmas Mini Word Pack
Sabrina's blog
How Sabrina solved the Case: When I saw the challenge I knew exactly which pictures and materials would fit perfectly, as my inspiration for this layout had been brewing ever since my husband and I took these pictures. I just needed the perfect excuse to go in "full holidays mode"! I really love Christmas time (and reindeers) and a few weeks ago I found this amazing reindeer onesies PJ that can be worn as a costume so it was a match made in heaven.

For this challenge, I chose to integrate "Christmas/Holiday Elements", "Plaid", "Frames", "Deer", "Lightbulbs" and "Poinsettias" elements on a "Wood Background". I really like the result. The dark wood background brings some warmth to the layout while allowing the chipboard items to really stand out.

I used the following 2Crafty products in the layout:
  • Christmas Frame #1 [Fr0114]
  • Christmas Light Strands [m00606]
  • Remember Moments Like This [w00306]
  • Foliage Set 4 [m00801]

Here is how the CSI Detectives have expertly cracked the case. You can read more about how the Case File inspired them on their blogs (links on sidebar).

How Lisa-Marie solved the Case: For this challenge, I used cream, olive green, red, charcoal and tawny brown. I added Christmas elements to my layout - Pointsettia's, snowflake & reindeer print paper and my title also has a Christmas theme. Further, I added 2 decorative frames and a Christmas themed sentiment on a pennant.

How Debbi solved the Case: I loved the plaid and started the whole layout by looking for a plaid pattern. The new Fancy Pants Cottage Christmas collection features several plaid patterns, so I started with that. I used the basic colors in the Scheme. Evidence clues I used are wood background, Christmas elements, circles, tie something, and greenery. And for the Testimony, I obviously chose the topic of documenting the holidays, along with the inspiration word merry.

How Vivian solved the Case: The Topic clue inspired my layout this time - about 5 years ago I did a different CSI Challenge (Case 150!!) and we took the first Christmas #selfie. Now every year before we open up presents, we take a new one.

You can find that Case File on CSI's Pinterest Page here : https://www.pinterest.ca/csicolor/case-file-no-150/

I've left room for this years picture. I haven't decided what size it's going to be yet, so I'm not sure where it will end up on the page. I think I will repost on the Community Sharing Page when I have the photo placed!

How Natsuko solved the Case: I made a wreath with fussy cut circles, snowflakes, leaves, wooden elements, sequins and a ribbon. From the evidence, I chose a wood background, Christmas/holiday elements, Circles and Ribbon.

How Nina solved the Case: I was inspired by the Christmas theme in the scene, and documented a piece of December with small photos of advent calendar gifts, trip to a Christmas market, ice cold weather and angel decorations in our house. Evidence: wood background, Christmas elements, deer, car, jar, wood, circles and trees.

How Magali solved the Case: I started to create my layout from the Inspiration word "Merry" and the case file's picture. From the list, I chose a deer, Christmas elements, the wood and something tied. I loved this beautiful combo... so Christmas's spirit!
