February Case Files - Deadline: February 28, 2019

Happy February! We're thrilled with the response to the changes we made this year (in case you missed them, you can read about them here)! As with last month, we will be sharing all three of the Case Files at the beginning of the month so that you'll have the entire month to play. On the 15th, we'll be sharing inspiration from the design team and guest designers for our second Case File.

SPONSORS

This month, we have six generous sponsors. Click here to read more about our sponsors and the prizes they are donating. Winners will be selected randomly from all of our players, with a few exceptions where sponsors have asked us to choose from certain geographic regions.

NEW DETECTIVE

We're thrilled to announce that Lynette Jacobs is joining our team of CSI Detectives! We've been trying for quite a while to give the Detective badge to Lynette, and she finally said yes!

Here are a few words, from Lynette:

My name is Lynette Jacobs and I live on the coast of South Africa. I have been married to my soulmate, Kobus, for 40 years and we have 3 children and 6 (soon 8) grandchildren. We have been in full time ministry to the homeless and addicted for the past 20 years. Scrapbooking is much needed therapy and escape from the heartbreak and brokenness that we deal with on a daily basis. I started scrapbooking in 2004 and it was an instant love affair.

CASE FILES

We present our February Case Files. Traditional clues can be found at the bottom of this blog post.

Case File No. 272 celebrates winter with this delightful scene by Marie Desbons.

We celebrate Valentine's Day with Case File No. 273. This lovely image was found at Decor Chick.

And we present our new bonus Cold Case File, which is designed to get you using your old stash. The beautiful Scene is by Claudia Tremblay.

The traditional CSI clues can be found on our Facebook page in the first entry under the album. Just click on the Case File images above. They are also posted at the bottom of this reveal.

GUEST DESIGNERS
We are so honored to have the 2Crafty design team serving as Guest Detectives this month! You are sure to be inspired by their work!

We are also thrilled to announce the return of Special Investigators! This month, Giorgia Rossini was chosen to guest design. Giorgina's layout will be presented in the mid-month reveal.

INSPIRATION

And now, are you ready for some serious inspiration? Here's what our design team and guest designers created with Case File No. 272. We will share their creations for Case File No. 273 on the 15th.

The talented 2Crafty designers cracked the Case like this:

Marie Claude's blog
How Marie Claude solved the Case: The whimsical characters of the image immediately caught my attention. I dug into my stash of photos looking for a fun photo of my kids that would fit this case.

After finding my picture, I chose the color scheme, leaves and winter theme as my main elements. I also added splatters and of course, 2Crafty chipboard as wood elements.

2Crafty products used:
Fine Word Set
4" Mandala no.1
Amelia Flower Stems

Tammy's blog

I used the following 2Crafty Chipboard: 'Hedgehogs', 'Mini Trees', 'Bookworm' Tree with Sparrows', 'Mushrooms', 'Mini Travel Word Set 2'.

I used the colours and went with a book theme. I used the following evidence - stripes, distressed patterns, trees (chipboard, painted, pine), leaves, woodland creatures (hedgehog), bird, mushroom, string, splatters, metal (open book), wood (woodgrain paper, chipboard), journaling inside a handmade book (so cute!!!!).

Emma's blog
How Emma solved the Case: I solved the case by using the colour scheme from the scene. My evidence includes a border, leaves, splats, mushrooms, woodland creature (my image) twine or string. And I created a haiku for the testimony part.

Chipboard used:
Fine stem frame
Leafy silhouette
Wildflowers

Rachael's blog
My for layout I have used
2 Crafty Chipboard pieces: Leafy Frame, Winter leaves, Treasure the little things title & 1 of the SUPER CUTE bugs from funky bugs pack!

How I solved the Case:
Scene and scheme: inspired by all of the colors ie: Blueish gray,White, Khaki green, Brick red & the cream yellow
Testimony: Inspired by the Word ‘Cozy’
Evidence: leaves, mist/splatters,Woodland Creatures I went with a bug.

And the CSI design team masterfully cracked the Case. We'll share how they solved the Case on Facebook.

  1. This is great! Hopefully I'll be able to participate this month. I'm planning on scrapbooking during the Super Bowl tonight.
