Major Case File No. 233 - Deadline: July 31 2017

Happy July! Summer's in full swing and it's hot, hot, hot here in Maryland.

With a new month beginning, we present our Major Case File, which features an awesome Composite Sketch created just for CSI by The Nifty Pixel. This challenge will stay open for the entire month. With this Case File, our new Detectives make their debut! We've also got a brand-new line up of sponsors, Guest Designers, and Special Investigators too!

So, are you ready for the new challenge? Grab you forensics kits, CSI players, and get ready for some serious sleuthing as we open Major Case File No. 233.

CASE FILE

With July being vacation time, we thought we'd celebrate summer relaxing this month. With that in mind, we've got a lovely, tranquil Case File inspired this dreamy Scene by Heather Ann Stillufsen, the artist behind Rose Hill Design Studio.

Digital scrappers can find a template for this sketch here.

Remember to scroll all the way down to the bottom of this reveal post for RGB codes, color descriptions, and more detailed explanations of the Evidence and Testimony prompts.

For our Russian players, Detective Anastasia has translated our Case File into Russian:

GUEST DESIGNERS

We are thrilled to have the design teams from Scrapbook Fantasies, Scrapmatts, and Swirlydoos join us this month as Guest Detectives!

We also have a team of Special Investigators joining us this month, whose work caught our eye from our April Case File entries:

Hi! I’m Brenda from Ohio. I’ve been scrapbooking for almost 20 years now, back when we only had white cardstock, stickers and black journaling pens. Things have really changed over the years! Since I didn’t start scrapping until my kids were in high school, I have a lot of old photos to catch up on, so I try to work on those along with current photos of my grandkids and photos from our motorcycle trips. I love recording all our family memories, as well as the creative outlet from playing with paper, glue, and all the cool products available now.

Hi, I’m Debbie, I live in Southampton with my husband of 12 years and our rescue cat. I took early retirement last year to devote more time to my husband, which gives me more crafting time too.

I have lots of artistic qualifications which help me with the inspiration for each project, and I love learning. I have been crafting for over 30 years, beginning with cards, it was family history that got me into scrapbooking. I learned new techniques from entering blog challenges, watching you tube tutorials and taking a face to face class. I challenge myself with every new layout, my crafting moto is ‘look beyond the obvious’.

My husband checks every project, if it doesn’t get a ‘wow’ from him it goes back to be reworked or started afresh. When you get stuck for inspiration blog challenges are a great source of inspiration.

Karen Moss

My name is Karen and I live in Essex, England, with my lovely husband of 30 years. We have one daughter – Gracia and a Golden Retriever – Kiera. Gracia and Kiera are the main focus of my scrapbook pages. I have been scrapbooking for about 10 years, having been introduced to it by my best friend and during that time have been published most UK scrapbook magazines, been on the design teams for Scrapagogo and Shimelle and am currently on the design team for A Trip Down Memory Lane.

I have loved to craft since my grandma taught me to knit and sew when I was five and have been ‘making stuff’ ever since. Once I discovered scrapbooking all other crafts fell by the wayside. My style is very layered and full on and my friends joke that if you can get more than one of my pages into a page protector then it can’t be finished yet. My style is constantly evolving with each new challenge.

Crafting is an inherent part of my everyday life – I have to do something creative every day or my day doesn’t feel complete. I like to scrap my frustrations, my triumphs, my love of life and my family, I like to record the sad, funny, ordinary and just plain weird things that happen in our everyday life, I scrap the everyday. I am not an acid free scrapper as I like to add all sorts to my pages.
