September Scrapbooking Challenge Case Files - First Reveal | Deadline: October 4, 2026

🕵️‍♀️ Welcome to September at CSI, Investigators!

We’re turning the page to a new season of creativity with two inspiring Case Files that celebrate learning, imagination, and discovery. September brings a sense of fresh beginnings — sharpened pencils, new notebooks, and stories waiting to be written. Whether your photos capture first-day jitters or cozy reading corners, these prompts invite you to document the lessons and adventures that shape our everyday lives.

Our first Case File, No. 484, is all about the Back to School spirit — bright colors, playful patterns, and the excitement of new possibilities. The scene bursts with cheerful energy: stacks of books, clocks ticking toward new routines, and a world of ABCs ready to explore. It’s a perfect opportunity to scrapbook classroom memories, learning milestones, or even life lessons beyond school walls.

Our second Case File, No. 485, takes us into a world of Reading and Wonder. A dreamy dragon curls around a tower of books, reminding us that stories can transport us anywhere. This palette of earthy browns, sage greens, and soft teals invites reflection and imagination — ideal for documenting quiet moments with a favorite book or the magic of storytelling itself.

Both September Case Files will remain open through October 4, giving you plenty of time to investigate the clues, gather your evidence, and craft your creative layouts.

GUEST DETECTIVE SPOTS

This Month's Guest Designers

We’re delighted to welcome our guest designers back to CSI! Each brings a unique perspective and artistic flair. Their layouts will appear alongside the Detectives' work in the Inspiration section of this post.

Hello, friends. My name is Brandy. I live in a small East Texas town (don't hold it against me, lol) with my husband and a cat. Scrapbooking is my one true crafty love. I briefly owned an online scrapbook store, and I have served on a few design teams in recent years. About a year ago, I had to give up my teams because work was entirely too demanding. That was a difficult choice to make, but it had to be done. I absolutely love CSI. It is a unique group with unique prompts that make me think outside the box. I am honored to be this month's guest designer. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy.

Kylie Gw

I've been scrapping and digi scrapping for years. It's my history in pictures and text. I love it. I am a very visual person, but also keen on textures and text. I love looking at what others do and learning new things. CSI has been a home away from home for me.

Nicole Lacoste

I’m Nicole. I’m retired and have been doing scrapbooking for about 20 years, mainly creating pages. I have four grandchildren and one great‑grandson who are my favorite models. I love scrapbooking, reading, and hiking.

CASE FILES

The palette blends teal, orange, chartreuse, and soft neutrals, echoing the vibrancy of travel ephemera and the sunlit hues of summer exploration. Whether you’re inspired by the idea of charting a path, capturing a moment on the go, or celebrating the stories that unfold when you step outside your everyday routine, this Case File invites you to craft layouts filled with curiosity, movement, and adventure.

This Scene transports you to a sun‑washed Mediterranean escape—pastel buildings, citrus groves, sparkling seas, and the gentle hum of coastal life. It’s a celebration of slowing down, savoring beauty, and embracing the calm of a seaside summer.

The palette mixes soft blues, warm corals, lemony yellows, and breezy neutrals, capturing the charm of coastal towns and the serenity of warm August days. GUEST DETECTIVES
Our Guest Detectives have joined us on this month’s adventure, each bringing their own creative flair to Case File No. 483. Their layouts capture the spirit of Mediterranean calm—rich color, thoughtful storytelling, and beautifully personal interpretations of the seaside Scene.

Let’s take a closer look at how each Guest Detective approached the investigation. Their work offers fresh perspectives on the Case File—blending creativity, narrative, and a sense of sun‑washed serenity that’s sure to inspire your next investigation.

Brandy Bailey Vaughn

Brandy’s layout bursts with energy and wanderlust, perfectly balancing the exhilaration and peace that come with exploring new places. Her bold diagonal stripes echo the vivid hues of cerulean, coral, and lemon, drawing the eye straight to that breathtaking waterfall photo—a moment that feels both powerful and serene.

Layered phrases like “Explore & Dream” and “Adventure Is Calling” reinforce the Case File’s spirit of discovery, while playful icons and clouds add movement and lightness. Brandy’s composition captures that feeling of fresh air and freedom—the kind of memory that reminds us why we scrapbook our journeys in the first place.

Kylie Gw
Kylie’s page tells a heartfelt story of creativity passed down through generations. Her layout, “Rug Man,” captures the warmth of family connection and the beauty of handmade art. Inspired by her father’s love of punch art, Kylie documented their collaboration through vivid color and texture—showing both her original orchid sketch and the finished rug he created.

The design glows with Mediterranean vibrancy—sunny yellows, coral pinks, and sapphire blues echo the Case File’s palette while beads, sequins, and stitched lettering add tactile charm. The storytelling feels deeply personal yet universally resonant, celebrating craftsmanship, memory, and the joy of creating something together. It’s a perfect reminder that artistry often begins at home, in shared moments of imagination and love.

Nicole Lacoste

Nicole’s layout radiates serenity and elegance, beautifully echoing the Mediterranean blues of Case File No. 483. Her page layers soft patterns and torn textures to create depth, while delicate florals, pearls, and lace evoke the calm rhythm of seaside days.

The photos—set against ancient stone walls and tunnels—capture a sense of exploration and quiet wonder, perfectly balanced by the gentle palette of cerulean, off‑white, and misty gray. The butterfly, bird, and key embellishments add symbolism of freedom and discovery, tying back to the Case File’s theme of slowing down and savoring life’s small adventures. Nicole’s composition feels like a breath of fresh coastal air—peaceful, refined, and full of heartfelt storytelling.
