September Case Files - First Reveal | Deadline: October 4

Happy September! Although the weather outside in Maryland, summer is winding down and school's back in session already! And since it's a brand new month, we're back with some more fun and inspiring challenges for you that will help you document back to school, lessons--or any topic, really.

For this first reveal, we'll be sharing inspiration from the design team and guest designers for our first Case File. On the 15th, we'll be sharing inspiration from the design team and guest designers for our second Case File as well as our Cold Case File, our special stash-busting challenge.

SPONSORS

This month, we have six generous sponsors donating prizes! Click here to read more about our sponsors and the prizes they are donating. Winners will be selected randomly from all of our players, with a few exceptions where sponsors have asked us to choose from certain geographic regions.

CASE FILES

Our challenges this month celebrate all things back to school--reading, writing, and arithmetic! As always, you don't have to scrap these topics. Draw your own inspiration from The Scene on the Case File, or you can use the traditional clues, which can be found at the bottom of this blog post.

INSPIRATION

And now, are you ready for some serious inspiration? Here's what our design team and guest designers created with this month's first Case File. We will share their creations for our other two Case Files on the 15th of the month.

The 2Crafty design team teamed up with CSI as a Guest Detectives to show off their gorgeous chipboard embellishments.

How Robin solved the Case: Robin was inspired by using many of the Case File clues:
- Theme - Reading
- Colors - olive green, goldenrod and ivory
- Distressed patterned paper
- Text patterned paper
- Circles
- books
- People
- Butterfly
- Mix media background (a little)
- Pom poms
- Decorative border

The 2Crafty Chipboard that I used was:
Just You - title
Lucy’s border
Frame Lucy’s flourish
Skeleton leaves
Clock face discs
Heart bubble set
Circle revolution frame

The CUT to YOU design team teamed up with CSI as a Guest Detectives to show off their gorgeous cut files.

How Shannon solved the Case: I was so inspired by the leafy shapes in Case File 366. I chose to emphasize them by using the Rose Garden Camera Cut File from Cut to You in a large size and then I included bits of black to mimic the gorgeous black marks on the Case File.

The CSI design team masterfully cracked the Case. We'll share how we solved the Case on Facebook.

CASE FILE CLUES

Choose as many or as few as you are inspired to use! You don't have to use all of the categories of clues. use what inspires you, or challenge yourself to use as many clues as you can. Or just use the image to inspire you as you wish!
