Happy October! Fall is finally here, and we're excited to start a new month at CSI because a new month means new challenges and new sponsors. And this October, we have something something else exciting to share: this month, the CSI Design Team has paired up with PageMaps, the number-one scrapbook sketch site for almost a dozen years! Our challenges stay open all month long. And did you know that you are welcome to submit as many layouts as you'd like for the challenges? We also don't mind if you combine our challenge with other challenges or with your design team work. We are here to inspire you to scrap and tell your story!

CASE FILE
As the last hints of summer fade and the landscape is painted all shades of fire and gold, autumn arrives. And so, we have a beautiful, autumnal Case File for you this month, found on Pinterest. Don't have autumn photos? No worries! Just use any part of the Case File to inspire you.

Here is how the CSI Detectives have expertly cracked the case. You can read more about how the Case File inspired them on their blogs (links on sidebar).
How Nina solved the Case File: I love fall colours, and because we carve pumpkins every year, I have lots of photos to match the color scheme. I was inspired by the scene, and chose to document something about autumn in 2005 and 2006 (the second layout).
How Natsuko solved the Case File: I was inspired by the colors, leaves, wood veneer and lace. I distressed and painted die-cut leaves and wooden veneers and hid a journal inside a little envelope. I love the sketch from page maps; it was a perfect match with the Case file:)
How Annie solved the Case File: I went old school again with this one - I just can't resist following those clues!!
How Lisa solved the Case File: I was inspired by the colors. I used book pages, fall themed elements, wood veneer, other animal and distressing for evidence. For my testimony, I documented something about autumn.
How Anastasia solved the Case File: I was focused mostly on the sketch and autumn theme here, used only half of the clues.
Textured paper (both cardstock and Carta bella paper), Woodgrain paper (a bot of grey), leaves, branches, (fruit in broad sence - I have acorns), fall-themed elements, metal brad, frames, a bird (on the brad) and other animal - a cat, grid design and distressing.
Journaling - Document something about autumn. It's a story about an autumn photoshoot and a lost cat, that found a new home:)
How Louise solved the Case File: Mostly colour inspiration with a whole lot of Stars! I also created on a Kraft background - normally I would go to white. The page went in a totally different direction but I love it.
How Debbi solved the Case File: I was inspired by the earthy colors and textures in the Case File, so combed through my 6 x 6 pads to find one that had an earthy feel, and found one that would do the trick. Next, I tried to use as many of the traditional Evidence clues as possible--I managed to use woodgrain paper, leaves, wood veneer, twine, frames, birds and other animals, something woven, and distressing.
How Magali solved the Case File: My clues: Frame, twine, jar.
How Carina solved the Case File: Love all the autumn greenery in the pics and that vintage feeling of the photos. I aimed for that feeling in my layout with my photo treatment and using wood, flowers and leaves in a rusty/shabby color scheme.
How Vivian solved the Case File: I really loved working with Becky's sketch to create this layout. I was inspired by the Topic clue this time. October is when we celebrate Thinksgiving here in Canada, so I wanted to create a page about being thankful for my family. The photos on this page were the last full family photos that we took before my father passed away last year. I added in a little bit of red, since it was in the patterned papers that I chose for this page.
How Ginger solved the Case File: These two photos show the house my grandmother was born in 1912. The second photo shows here in 1925 in front of the car. I love the colors we had to use because it goes well with the vintage look.
How Jess solved the Case File: I was so inspired by the autumn tones of this case file! I have included woodgrain paper, book page, leaves & flowers, wood veneer, animals & something woven from the evidence list. I have documented an autumn tram ride for my testimony.
How Taru solved the Case File: Craftaamo is new Finnish Craft even on this Autumn. So I used old style CSI case files: textured paper, wood veneer and distressing.
How Edith solved the Case File: To create my layout, I was inspired by the following items: textured paper, flowers and leaves, apple, fall theme and distressing.
How Laura solved the Case File: I used leaves, something woven, fall themes, distress, texture paper. I journalled on Fall
How Libeeti solved the Case File: I loved the erarthly colors of this case file! I went old school (again...), and my clues were: textured paper, woodgrain paper, flowers/leaves/branches, fruit (acorn), fall themed elements, a Jar, twine, frames, an animal, something woven (the burlap heart). I documented an early autumn walk we've had 4 years ago.
